To All our lovely Customers!
What a year! Whilst we’ve still got a few more kilos to roast up until Christmas Eve tomorrow, now feels like a good time to round-up and inform you of some key information as we approach the holidays.
Firstly, a personal note of thanks from everybody here at Clifton Coffee Roasters for your continued support throughout what has been an immensely busy and exciting year.
From where we’re sat, the coffee industry shows increasing signs of growth across all sectors and most of our customers are reporting a brilliant years’ trade in 2015 which is fantastic.
We have reached many milestones in the past 12 months, some of which were way ahead of our initial projections when we began our roastery back in March 2013, so it makes for a very dynamic and exciting place to work right now, something that I am very proud to be a part of.
Our team continues to grow from strength to strength and this year we’ve seen the addition of; Calum Lamont, Jimmy Dimitrov & Dave Cullen to the engineering & delivery team; Tim Nurse to the roastery and Josh Clarke as our Wholesale Manager.
2016 shows no signs of slowing down and in order to keep up with the varying demands of the industry, we’re making a few changes and additions to our business in order to further strengthen the level of product and service quality that we offer.
We are delighted to announce that in the middle of February next year, the roastery will be strengthened by the addition of Catherine O’Shea to the team as a full time production roaster.
Whilst we were sad to lose Will Davies to Wiper&True Brewery in September, Catherine brings with her a wealth of experience in the coffee industry having learnt her craft as a roaster under the highly respected John Thompson of Coffee Nexus //Artisan Roast in Edinburgh, as well as being a semi-finalist barista in the UKBC’s 2013 & 2015.
She also came 4th in the recent 2015 UK Roasters Championships and will continue her UKBC sensory judges role in the UKBC 2016 completion.
Catherine’s skills & experience as a barista will aid Jimmy Dimitrov in his new role with us as Clifton Coffee Training Manager which begins in the new year also.
For those of you that have met Jimmy, his enthusiasm is infectious and his ability to cultivate a good learning environment within a barista training program will be invaluable for our customers in the coming years as standards continue to rise.
Once qualified through SCAE and in addition to the free barista training we continue to provide, Jimmy will also be able to deliver SCAE-certified qualifications too, a service we shall be adding to our offer for 2016.
Jimmy’s role will primarily be to support our wholesale business development, headed up by Josh Clarke and I will continue to oversea both the production and wholesale development teams.
We’re very excited to be welcoming Catherine & Jimmy into their new roles and very lucky to have them both.
We are again looking for another member of staff to join our on the road team of engineers/delivery drivers.
This team is absolutely vital to the service we provide and now has 7 members of staff. Could you be the 8th????
If you have full driving license, have a mechanical or engineering background and either love coffee or want to learn more about it, then please do get in touch.
We’re looking for someone to help us look after the North Somerset & Birmingham areas.
Here’s to a great 2016, thank you all once again for your continued support and have a great Christmas from all at Clifton Coffee Roasters.
Best wishes & happy holidays,
Head of Coffee & Business Development
